Microcredentials are smaller blocks of instruction and experiences—three courses, two courses and an internship, four courses and an industry certification, etc.—that can be completed in months, not years. Microcredentials verify that you have mastered in-demand, work-force ready skills and wherever possible, also put you on a flexible pathway to additional credentials. Aligned to New York State business and industry needs, SUNY microcredentials can be just the right fit for those looking to start or change jobs, adapt to new work responsibilities, upskill or earn a promotion.

This workshop is your introduction to high-quality microcredentials. You will explore examples of different types of microcredentials and also learn about “stackability,” applying credits from microcredentials toward satisfying the requirements of a certificate or degree. You will learn about digital badges that recognize microcredential completion and the new SUNY-wide microcredential directory. You’ll learn about the value that microcredentials add to your resume, showcasing your skills and helping you stand-out from the competition.
